Question 1

What information should I send to get an accurate poultry farm design and quotation?

Accepted Answer

Send five essential details: (1) country and farm location, (2) layers or broilers, (3) target bird capacity, (4) available land size or existing house dimensions, and (5) desired automation level. If a house already exists, provide its length × width × height and, if possible, a drawing or photos. Also mention plans to expand and any power supply constraints. These details help the supplier calculate cage sets, arrange rows, and specify the supporting equipment.

Question 2

Can I expand a 20,000-layer farm to 50,000 or 100,000 layers later?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but plan the 50,000- or 100,000-bird target before constructing the first 20,000-bird house. Reserve land for additional houses and check whether the planned power, water, access, feed storage, egg handling, and manure management can grow with the flock. For example, expanding from 20,000 to 100,000 layers adds 80,000 bird spaces; the project will need more than additional cages. A phased site plan shows what can be extended and what must be added later.

Question 3

How do I size ventilation for a poultry house in a hot climate?

Accepted Answer

Bird count alone cannot determine the number of fans. The design also needs the house length, width and height, cage layout, local weather conditions, and the planned air path. For example, a 50,000-layer house measuring 90 m × 20 m cannot be specified accurately by copying the fan count from a narrower or shorter house. Ask for a ventilation layout showing fan positions, air inlets or cooling pads, and how air reaches the birds throughout the house.

Question 4

What equipment is needed for a fully automatic 50,000-layer farm?

Accepted Answer

Use a system checklist: layer cages; automatic feeding and drinking; egg collection; manure removal; ventilation and cooling; lighting and controls; and feed and water storage. The cage count determines the row layout, while the bird count and house dimensions affect ventilation, feed storage, and water supply. For a 50,000-layer project, ask the supplier to show the capacity and position of each system on one coordinated layout—not just provide a list of machines.

Question 5

How much land do I need for a 50,000-layer poultry farm?

Accepted Answer

Separate poultry house area from total site area. One LIVI design example uses a 90 m × 20 m house, equal to 1,800 m² of building footprint, for a 50,000-layer H-type project. That figure does not include all the land needed for access, utilities, manure handling, other facilities, or expansion. The actual requirement changes with cage configuration and whether the flock is divided between houses. Request a site layout before buying land or finalizing construction dimensions.

Question 6

How many cage sets do I need for 50,000 layers?

Accepted Answer

Divide the target bird capacity by the rated capacity of the exact cage model, then round up. For example, with a 144-bird H-type cage set, 50,000 ÷ 144 = 347.2, so at least 348 sets would provide 50,112 cage spaces. This is an equipment calculation, not a completed house layout: aisle width, cage rows, egg collection equipment, and service space must still be checked. LIVI shows a 144-bird H-type configuration in a 50,000-layer design example.

Question 7

Should I choose A-type or H-type cages for my layer farm?

Accepted Answer

Start with your capacity and the work you want to automate. A-type cages can suit a farm seeking a lower initial equipment investment. H-type cages are commonly selected for larger operations that want multi-tier housing with integrated feeding, egg collection, and manure removal. For example, at 50,000 layers, compare both options using the same bird capacity, poultry house conditions, and list of included equipment. The cheapest cage quotation does not necessarily represent the cheapest complete farm.

Question 8

How much does an automatic poultry cage system cost for 10,000 or 50,000 chickens?

Accepted Answer

There is no reliable price based on bird count alone. A quotation for 10,000 layers and one for 50,000 layers may include very different cage models, automation, ventilation, and poultry house work. Ask for the costs to be separated into cages, feeding, drinking, egg collection, manure removal, ventilation, shipping, and installation. Also confirm whether the poultry house structure is included. This lets you compare the total project scope instead of comparing two cage prices that cover different equipment.

Question 9

What is included in a turnkey poultry farm solution?

Accepted Answer

A turnkey solution can cover planning, design, cage equipment, automatic systems, transportation, installation guidance, commissioning, training and after-sales support.

Question 10

How should a 50,000-layer automatic poultry farm be designed?

Accepted Answer

A 50,000-layer project normally requires an H-type cage system, coordinated poultry house layouts and automatic feeding, drinking, egg collection, manure removal and climate control.

Question 11

Can I start with 20,000 layers and expand to 50,000 later?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The original master plan should reserve land, road access, electrical capacity, water supply, feed storage and manure-handling capacity for expansion. The first-stage equipment should also be compatible with future centralized systems where possible.

Question 12

How many poultry houses are needed for a 100,000-layer farm?

Accepted Answer

The number depends on the cage model, tiers, house dimensions and ventilation design. A 100,000-layer project may use several poultry houses to improve management, biosecurity and production scheduling. A complete site layout is required before confirming the number.

Question 13

How much does it cost to start a commercial layer farm?

Accepted Answer

The investment depends on the number of birds, poultry house construction, cage type, automation level, local labor costs, electricity, water supply and transportation.

Question 14

How about your after-sale service?

Accepted Answer

Once everything is ready, we will contact you monthly, and we will give you the satisfying answers to the technical problems about the automatic equipment.

Question 15

What’s the special treatment of your chicken cages?

Accepted Answer

The cages adopt electrostatic spraying treatment. Compared with traditional metal plating process, electrostatic spraying process is much more environmental friendly and anti corrosive; the coating with silky appearance is self-cleaning, which can greatly reduce the infection rate of chicken disease.

Question 16

Which kind of automatic equipment do I need?

Accepted Answer

A whole series of a poultry chicken house including incubator, cages, automatic feeder, feeding silo, automatic egg collector ,automatic manure removal machine, ventilation cooling system, heater. But what are you really need depends on the scale of your chicken house, the climate and the condition of electricity of your place. Don't worry, we can make a cost-efficient choice for you.

Question 17

Will you provide the production updating?

Accepted Answer

Once you choose us as your supplier, we will give you the production upgrade every 5 years, and we will try our best to meet all your reasonable requests.

Question 18

Can the products be customized?

Accepted Answer

We can produce the products according to your detailed requirements.

Question 19

How to start a chicken house?

Accepted Answer

Tell us the size and type of your house/shed and the quantity of chickens(broiler or layers?) you want to raise, we would lead you step by step and help design for you freely.

Question 20

How many cages do I need?

Accepted Answer

It depends on how many chickens you want to breed or the size of your chicken house/shed.
